Group travel often requires a spirit of adventure and a willingness to adapt to new experiences. At AAA Group Travel, we understand that every traveler has different expectations for the pace and physical demands of a trip. That’s why our tours are organized by clearly defined activity levels—to help you select the travel experience that best matches your comfort and energy level. While we aim to make our tours as accessible as possible, some itineraries may involve physical challenges that are not suitable for travelers with limited mobility. If you require mobility assistance, we ask that you notify us in advance of booking so we can help evaluate whether a particular tour is a good fit. Travelers needing personal assistance must travel with a capable companion, as Tour Hosts and staff are not able to provide one-on-one mobility support. We’re happy to help identify alternative options if a certain tour’s activity level isn’t right for you.
The AAA Group Travel Activity Levels are progressive in nature.
Choose the right activity level for you
Level 1 · Relaxed+
Leisurely pace; shorter touring days; some physical activity required including independently boarding/disembarking motorcoach and managing one's own baggage.
Level 2 · Comfortable+
Easy pace; some stairs and standing; short duration walks typically on level terrains.
Level 3 · Active+
Moderate pace; good mobility needed; stairs and prolonged standing for more than 2 hours at a time; some longer days involving early mornings and/or late evenings; some walking on varied terrain. This Activity Level is not recommended for travelers with mobility issues such as someone who uses a cane, walker, or wheelchair.
Level 4 · Challenging+
Fast pace; frequent physically challenging activities; walking on varied terrain and/or up to two miles at a time; longer tour days. This Activity Level is not recommended for travelers with serious medical conditions.
Level 5 · Strenuous+
Vigorous pace; frequent strenuous activities; extensive walking; longer tour days; walking on varied terrain.
